Our retreat will be based in the very well-appointed new Rosminian retreat house,opened in April 2007, near the beach of the Calabrian resort of Capo Rizzuto,in the province of Crotone. The nearby parish of Isola di Capo Rizzuto,seat of an ancient diocese,has been in the care of the Rosminian Fathers for many years and will be celebrating the great Feast of la Madonna Greca during our stay.We shall be able to participate in this celebration.
Calabria,lying between the Ionian and the Tyrrhenian seas in the deep south of Italy,is the home of ancient Greek,Byzantine and Albanian cultures.

As well as a full programme of talks and liturgies,we shall enjoy excursions to:

Crotone,provincial capital,for its cathedral,castle and archaeological museum;
Santa Severina, set in beautiful hills and seat of an ancient diocese
Mesoraca for the Franciscan Sanctuary of Ecce Homo
San Giovanni in Fiore in the nearby province of Cosenza,with its ancient Abbey made famous by the great medieval mystic Gioacchino da Fiore.
Serra San Bruno,in the province of Vibo Valentia,home of a great Carthusian monastery,nestling in beautiful mountains.

Because of our early departure,a hotel room at Stansted for the night of Tuesday 29th April is included in your retreats fees
