Terms and Conditions
How to Book
Complete the booking form and send the the deposit (£100 per person),
made payable to "Retreats Beyond Dover". Travel insurance is not included
in your retreat fees, so you will need to arrange for your own travel insurance,
and indicate the name of your insurer on the booking form. On receipt of the
cheque we will send you our confirmation invoice, showing the balance due, payable
eight weeks prior to departure. The full balance will be due immediately if
you book within eight weeks of the departure date. Full joining instructions
will be despatched to you when you have paid the final balance.
Booking Conditions
1. Liability
We always do our best to make sure that your retreat holiday arrangements are
satisfactory. We do not accept liability for any loss or damage sustained by
you,except as a result of our negligence. We accept no liability for loss or
damage caused by third parties or by force majeure events, such as earthquakes,
floods, civil disturbance or industrial action.
2. Departure Times
Details given in the retreat information sheets are correct at the time of going
to press, but may be subject to alteration.
3. Cancellation by you
Should you, or a member of your party, be forced to cancel your retreat holiday,
you must advise us by notice in writing immediately. The notice should be signed
by the person who signed the original booking form. Verbal cancellation is not
effective.
4. Cancellation Charges
The scale of cancellation charges is calculated according to the number of days
prior to departure that written notice is received by us:
More than 60 days .... Deposit only
29 - 59 days .... 30% of total retreat fee
15 - 28 days .... 45% of total retreat fee
8 - 14 days .... 75% of total retreat fee
1 - 7 days .... 100% of total retreat fee
5. The Prices
All prices given in the retreat information sheets are based on costs known
on January 1st, 2009. If there are any increases in these beyond our control,such
as fuel surcharges levied by our airline,they will be included in our final
invoice. We guarantee that any such increases will not exceed 10% of the total
retreat holiday price. Any increase in excess of this amount will be borne by
us and no refunds arising out of cost variations will be made.
7. Complaints
If you, or any member of your party, has any cause for dissatisfaction, you
must immediately inform the retreat organiser accompanying each retreat group
and send full particulars to our office. All such complaints will be dealt with
promptly. Our liability will be limited to the actual amount paid to us.
Notes
Although private coaches are used for our long-distance excursions, all retreats
involve a reasonable amount of walking, as we explore town centres, churches,
museums, art galleries and monasteries.
Joining instructions, giving airport departure times and flight itineraries,
together with suggestions for background reading, are posted about a month before
departure.
Tickets and luggage labels are posted to you about two weeks before departure.
Information pack, with background information, relevant maps and a list of members
of the group, are handed to you before departure at the airport
